If you guys are anything like me you want to know whats going on around town.  And sometimes things dont make it to the news outlets so I decided that I would install a scanner but after doing some investigating I found that Huntsville had moved its radio traffic from the old analog system to the new digital 800mhz frequencies with P25 encoding.  This means a traditional scanner will not pick up the radio frequencies, So I decided that I would get a radio capable of decoding this P25 Radio signal and stream it online so that you can listen to the Huntsville scanner anywhere as long as you have internet.  This means you can listen to it from you own personal computer or you can listen to it from you Iphone, Android or Blackberry by installing the appropriate app.  If you would like to listen to it from your computer its as simple as click on this link from RadioReference.com.

If you have a Iphone you can install an app called “5-0 Radio” and on android i believe its called “Radio Scanner”
